Macro Golf coach studying a shot between clubs
Our philosophy

Your golf should make sense.

You’ve probably played enough good golf to know there’s more in there. That’s what makes golf so frustrating sometimes.

It’s rarely a complete lack of ability that’s holding golfers back. It’s the gap between the golf they’re capable of producing and the golf that regularly turns up.

Better golf shouldn’t feel like an accident.

I’ve watched golfer after golfer know there’s better golf in there, without ever quite understanding how to find it more often.

This is what I’ve learned along the way, and it’s the thinking behind everything we do.

01

You’ve seen it before.

Almost every golfer we’ve ever worked with has said some version of the same thing.

“I know there’s better golf in there.”

They’ve hit the shots. They’ve had the rounds. They’ve seen glimpses of what’s possible. That’s rarely the problem.

The problem is that they don’t always understand why it appeared in the first place — or why it disappeared again a week later.

One week they’ve found something that works. The next week they’re searching for another answer. More practice. Another lesson. A different swing thought.

Knowing there’s better golf in there whilst not really understanding how to find it more often is usually where the frustration begins.

02

Most golfers do not lack effort.

Golfers have never had access to more information than they do today. We can analyse almost every part of the golf swing. There are thousands of opinions available online and more technology than ever before.

Yet we don’t think golfers have ever been more confused.

Most aren’t struggling because they aren’t trying hard enough. They’re struggling because they’re trying ten different things at once.

Before long they’re trying to solve five different problems whilst having absolutely no idea which one actually deserves their attention.

Somewhere along the way, we’ve made golf more complicated than it needs to be.

03

We don’t start with the swing.

If somebody walked into the studio tomorrow and told me they block their driver right, I wouldn’t immediately start thinking about how we’re going to fix it. I’d want to understand why they block their driver right.

What changes when they’re playing well?

What changes when they aren’t?

What patterns keep returning?

What actually works for them?

Golf gets a lot simpler when you start asking better questions.

04

No two golfers are ever the same.

The same technical advice can transform one golfer and make another worse. That’s why we’ve never believed there’s one perfect golf swing.

Your body matters. Your tendencies matter. Your movement patterns matter. The problems you’re trying to solve matter.

We call this your Blueprint. It’s simply our way of describing the evolving picture of how you play golf.

Understanding that picture changes coaching enormously. Because we stop asking…

Stop asking

“What’s the right golf swing?”

Start asking

“What’s right for this golfer?

See where your golf fits your Blueprint

05

Our job isn’t to add to the noise.

One of the things we’ve become increasingly convinced of over the years is that golfers don’t usually suffer from a lack of information. If anything, they suffer from having too much of it.

Another coach. Another drill. Another swing thought. Another YouTube video. Most don’t need another ten things to work on.

They need greater clarity around:

  • what’s most likely influencing their performance
  • what deserves their attention
  • what probably doesn’t
  • what actually works for them

Our job isn’t to add to the noise. It’s to help make sense of what’s already there.

06 / What we built

Better golf shouldn’t feel like an accident.

We built Macro Golf around one simple idea: your golf should make sense.

We want you to understand why your patterns keep returning, what actually works for you and how to make your best golf more available over time.

Not because we’ve given you another swing thought or another thing to work on, but because we’ve helped you understand your golf a little better than you did before.

You’ve probably played enough good golf to know there’s more in there.

We simply want to help you find it more often.
