Your Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about how Macro Golf works, who it’s for and what to expect.

01 / The basics
What is Macro Golf?

Macro Golf is a personalised golf coaching company that helps golfers play more consistent golf by understanding how their swing, body and performance work together.

Rather than focusing on swing mechanics alone, we combine technical coaching, physical assessment and performance coaching to understand why your golf behaves the way it does. This allows us to build coaching around your individual Blueprint, helping you make better decisions about what to improve and what to ignore.

What is a Match-Up in Golf?

A Match-Up describes how well the different parts of your golf work together. Your swing, physical capabilities, movement patterns, intentions and strategy all influence the shots you produce. When those factors complement one another, your golf tends to become more consistent. When they don’t, the game often feels unpredictable and frustrating. Our coaching is built around helping you understand and improve your Match-Up.

Who is Macro Golf for?

Macro Golf is for golfers who want more than another swing tip.

Most of our clients are committed golfers who want to understand their game, improve their consistency and stop relying on guesswork. Whether you’re trying to break 100, reach single figures or compete at an elite level, our coaching is always built around your individual goals, experience and Blueprint.

How is Macro Golf different from normal golf coaching?

Macro Golf takes a personalised approach to golf coaching because we don’t believe every golfer should be coached in the same way.

Many golf lessons begin by changing the golf swing. We begin by understanding the golfer. By looking at your swing, physical capabilities, movement patterns, ball flight and performance together, we can identify what is actually influencing your golf before recommending what should change.

Our aim isn’t simply to improve your swing. It’s to help you understand your golf and make your best golf more available, more often.

What handicap do I need to be to work with Macro Golf?

There isn’t a minimum handicap requirement.

We work with golfers of all abilities, from players trying to break 100 through to elite amateurs and professionals. The golfers who benefit most are those who enjoy learning, are committed to improving and want coaching that’s tailored to them rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Can I work with Macro Golf if I already have a coach?

Absolutely.

Many golfers work with Macro Golf alongside their existing coach. Our role isn’t to replace good coaching but to provide another perspective by combining technical analysis, physical screening and performance coaching. We’re also happy to work collaboratively with your current coach where appropriate.

What if I’m injured or coming back from injury?

We’ll always take your injury history into account when building your coaching plan.

If an injury or physical limitation is affecting your golf, we’ll adapt your coaching accordingly and, where appropriate, work alongside your physiotherapist, consultant or healthcare professional. The aim is always to help you improve within the capabilities of your body, not work against them.

02 / How it works
How does online golf coaching work?

Macro Golf’s online golf coaching combines personalised swing analysis, structured practice plans, regular video feedback and ongoing coach support.

Instead of waiting until your next lesson, you’ll receive continuous guidance as you practise and play. Depending on your coaching programme, this may include swing analysis, physical training, mobility work, performance coaching and direct communication with your coach through the Macro Golf App.

What happens in a Match-Up Session?

A Match-Up Session is a comprehensive golf assessment designed to help you understand why your golf behaves the way it does.

Before your session you’ll complete a detailed questionnaire, submit slow-motion swing videos and complete a simple physical screening. During the session we combine this information with Sportsbox 3D swing analysis to identify the factors most likely influencing your performance.

You’ll leave with a much clearer understanding of your golf, practical next steps and a personalised follow-up video summarising our findings.

What do I need to work with Macro Golf?

Getting started is simple.

For online coaching, you’ll need a smartphone capable of recording slow-motion swing videos, access to a driving range or golf course and a willingness to commit to the coaching process. We’ll guide you through everything else, including filming your swing, completing assessments and using the Macro Golf App.

Is online coaching as effective as in-person?

For many golfers, yes.

Online coaching allows for more regular feedback than traditional lessons because your coach can review swings, monitor progress and adjust your plan as you improve. Many golfers find this continuous support leads to greater consistency than relying solely on occasional in-person lessons.

For some golfers, combining online coaching with occasional studio sessions provides the best of both approaches.

Can I combine in-person and online coaching?

Yes.

Many of our clients combine studio sessions with online coaching. In-person sessions allow us to complete detailed assessments and review progress, while online coaching provides regular feedback, structured practice and ongoing support between visits.

How long before I see results?

Every golfer is different, so there’s no fixed timeline.

Some golfers notice improvements within a few weeks, while others take longer as they develop new movement patterns and build greater consistency. Our focus is on creating long-term improvement rather than quick fixes, with coaching that continues to evolve as your golf develops.

03 / Technology & tools
What is Sportsbox 3D and how is it used?

Sportsbox 3D is an advanced golf swing analysis system that creates a three-dimensional model of your swing using ordinary smartphone video.

It allows us to measure movement patterns throughout your swing rather than relying solely on what we can see with the naked eye. Combined with your ball flight, physical assessment and coaching experience, Sportsbox helps us build a more complete understanding of your golf.

What is a TPI screen and why does it matter for my golf?

A TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) screen is a physical assessment that identifies how your mobility, stability, strength and movement patterns may influence your golf swing.

Your body has a significant impact on the movement solutions available to you. Understanding your physical capabilities helps us decide whether a change is best achieved through technical coaching, physical training or a combination of both.

What is the Macro Golf App and what’s inside it?

The Macro Golf App is your coaching hub.

It’s where you’ll access your personalised practice plans, training programmes, mobility routines and direct communication with your coach. Everything is organised in one place, making it easy to stay on track between coaching sessions.

04 / Logistics & pricing
Where is Macro Golf based?

We have golf performance facilities in Hertfordshire, Cardiff and Norwich.

Alongside studio coaching, we work with golfers across the UK and internationally through our online golf coaching programmes.

How much does Macro Golf coaching cost?

Our coaching programmes are personalised, so pricing depends on the level of support that’s right for you.

Most golfers begin with a Match-Up Session, allowing us to understand your golf before recommending the most appropriate coaching programme. We’ll always explain the available options clearly, with no pressure to continue if coaching isn’t the right fit.

Is there a minimum commitment, and can I cancel?

We believe coaching works best when there’s enough time to build meaningful improvement.

Any minimum commitment will be explained before you begin, along with the monthly investment and what’s included. If you decide coaching isn’t right for you after your commitment has ended, you’re free to cancel in line with your coaching agreement.
